The 2nd international conference dedicated to the 70th anniversary of LEPL - Ferdinand Tavadze Metallurgy and Materials Science Institute, on the topic: "Modern technologies and methods of inorganic materials science" was held in Tbilisi on 21-23 April 2015.
At the elections of Real members of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences held on April 02, 2015 at the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, by decision of Academic board of 56 Academicians, Director of Ferdinand Tavadze Institute of metallurgy and materials science, corresponding member of National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, Georgian State and George. Nikoladze prizes winner, Doctor of technical sciences, Professor Giorgi Ferdinand Tavadze was elected Academician of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences in '”Inorganic materials science and technologies” of the chemistry and chemical technology department.
Today the presentation of Georgian-made armor helmets and armor vests was held at the military base of Special Operations Forces.
XII International Symposium on Self-Propagating High Temperature Synthesis was held in South Padre Island, Texas, USA on 21-24 October 2013. 91 Scientists from 19 countries took part in the symposium including from “Ferdinand Tavadze Metallurgy and Materials Science Institute”-corresponding member of Georgian National Academy of Sciences G. Tavadze, Professor G.Oniashvili and Ph.D in Engineering Physics M.Chikhradze.
Defence Ministry of Georgia concluded Memorandums of Understanding with the academic circles today. Cooperation with Georgian National Academy of Sciences and Georgian Technical University will improve military-engineering field and rise defence capability of the country. From Defence Ministry, Minister Irakli Alasania signed the MoUs with the academic circles.
